Kramer VM-8UX Overview
The Kramer VM-8UX 1:8 4K 12G-SDI Distribution Amplifier is a 4K-compatible DA supporting up to 12G/HD/SD-SDI video signals. This DA unit takes one input, provides reclocking and equalization, and distributes the signal to eight identical outputs. The VM-8UX’s data transmission auto-adapts at rates from 270 Mb/s to 12 Gb/s. Signals are supported up to 262′ for 12G 4K, 328′ for 3G and 6G HD, 656′ for 1.5G HD, and 984′ for SD video.
Features of the Kramer VM-8UX include power and transmission-rate LED status indicators, BNC connectors, and pass-through of standard embedded audio and ID information/metadata. This fanless, compact DA is compliant with a host of SMPTE standards, which are listed below.
